Part 2 of Three-Part Video Series on Antimicrobial Resistance

Delving deeper into the discussion on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), this episode of the Beef Research School focuses on AMR research and surveillance on beef cattle.  We hear from Dr. Tim McAllister, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Principal Research Scientist, who explains in detail how AMR develops, summarizes past studies, and explains an upcoming study under the proposed Beef Science Cluster II.

See the video here.

Part 1 of the video series on AMR featured Dr. Reynold Bergen, Canadian Cattlemen’s Association and BCRC Science Director, who debunked some of the misconceptions about AMR, and explained the positive story the Canadian beef industry has to tell about its proactive research on and prudent use of antimicrobials.

Stay tuned for part 3 of this series, as well as other upcoming episodes in the Beef Research School.  Past episodes covered ruminal acidosis, footrot and other lameness, and using RFI to select for feed efficiency. For more information on the Beef Research School.
