Tracy Herbert – Extension and Communications Director, Beef Cattle Research Council
Tracy Herbert oversees the development, maintenance and utilization of various research extension tools, including www.BeefResearch.ca, with a focus on accelerating the adoption of innovations related to production efficiencies, animal health, and food safety and quality to cattle producers and other industry stakeholders. To maximize investments in research, she also works to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technology transfer in the Canadian beef industry through greater collaboration and empowerment of technology transfer agents, and supports direct engagement of researchers with industry.
Tracy received a B.A.in Communications Studies and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Calgary. Her family operates a mixed farm with purebred Speckle Park in West Central Saskatchewan.
Bart Lardner, Ph.D. – Senior Research Scientist, Western Beef Development Centre
For the past 20 years, Dr. Bart Lardner has worked at Western Beef Development Centre as a scientist focusing on cow-calf and forage production research. Bart has many years of practical experience in the cow-calf, feedlot and animal health sectors of the beef industry.
Dr. Lardner is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Animal and Poultry Science at the University of Saskatchewan where he supervises undergraduate and graduate students and teaches classes in forages, grazing ruminant nutrition and beef cattle management. In his current program, Dr. Lardner’s research focuses on improving pasture production, evaluating new forage cultivars, grazing ruminant nutrition, feed efficiency and intake, water quality, supplementation strategies to improve performance and heifer development programs. His research program works closely with producers to ensure applicability of results back to industry. In 2013, Dr. Lardner was the recipient of the Canadian Animal Industries Award in Extension and Public Service sponsored by the Canadian Society of Animal Science.

All you need to do is register beforehand, and about 5-10 minutes before the webinar is scheduled to begin, click the link you were provided when you registered. Then turn up your computer speakers or call the phone number provided. That’s it! Sit back and enjoy. As a participant, you can anonymously answer polls and surveys, and will have the opportunity to ask questions near the end of the webinar.
