speakers:

Nathan Erickson, DVM 

Dr. Erickson is an assistant professor at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine where his teaching and research interests are focused on beef production medicine and bovine respiratory disease vaccination. Nathan also works as part of the bovine field service unit in the college’s veterinary medical centre and recently became ABVP board certified in beef cattle medicine. Nathan was raised on a farm with both commercial cow-calf and hog operations near Stony Plain, Alberta. After completing the Master’s Degree in 2009 Nathan worked/co-owned a beef service and consulting practice in Airdrie, Alberta where his work focused on feedlot and cow-calf production medicine. Nathan and his wife Dorothy returned to Saskatchewan in 2015 to take part in new employment opportunities and to grow their herd of commercial cattle.

Ellen Crane, MSc

Ellen joined the BCRC team in October 2018 as Extension Coordinator. She graduated with a master’s of science in animal science at Dalhousie University and worked at the Maritime Beef Council on a new growth strategy for beef production in the region. She is a local 4-H leader, a graduate of the Cattlemen’s Young Leaders Program, and a 2018 Nuffield Scholar. Her family raises cattle on Prince Edward Island.

What is a webinar?

Webinars are just like attending a workshop or conference, but from the comfort of your own home or office. We bring the presentation right to you. They’re easy to join and participate in. A reliable, high-speed internet connection is required.

All you need to do is register beforehand, and about 5-10 minutes before the webinar is scheduled to begin, click the link you were provided when you registered. Then turn up your computer speakers or call the phone number provided. That’s it! Sit back and enjoy.

As a participant, you can anonymously answer polls and surveys, and will have the opportunity to ask questions near the end of the webinar.
