Melinda German-General Manager, Canadian Beef Check-Off Agency
As the General Manager of the Canadian Beef Check-Off Agency, Melinda’s focus is to ensure the transparent utilization of producer check-off and import levy dollars to continue to build and strengthen the beef industry across Canada.
Melinda has been working professionally in agriculture for over 20 years and her primary focus has been on the beef industry, working directly with and for producers to continue to advance the industry.
John Gilleard – Professor of Parasitology and Associate Dean, Research at the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Gilleard obtained his BVSc (UK equivalent of DVM) from the University of Liverpool, UK and his PhD from the University of Glasgow, UK. He moved to UCVM from his position as Professor of Molecular and Veterinary Parasitology at the University of Glasgow in 2008. His research program primarily uses molecular and genomic approaches to improve the diagnosis and management of drug resistant parasites in livestock and humans. He has a particular interest in translating basic research into applied outcomes. Dr. Gilleard has published over 70 peer reviewed research papers, predominantly in high ranking journals, and has secured over $8M of research funding in the UK and Canada. What is a webinar?
Webinars are just like attending a workshop or conference, but from the comfort of your own home or office. We bring the presentation right to you. They’re easy to join and participate in. A reliable, high-speed internet connection is required.
All you need to do is register beforehand, and about 5-10 minutes before the webinar is scheduled to begin, click the link you were provided when you registered. Then turn up your computer speakers or call the phone number provided. That’s it! Sit back and enjoy. As a participant, you can anonymously answer polls and surveys, and will have the opportunity to ask questions near the end of the webinar.
